Read or write?
OK, so it's an artificial and ultimately meaningless thought experiment (a bit like a poem, then), but:
You're cursed by an evil demon. From now on you can either read or write, but not both. Which do you choose? Which is more important to you?
I choose reading. What about you?

A long time ago, a friend of mine commented on how many poems I was writing (in the flush of youth and all that), and I said that poems come and poems go, but you can tell whether I feel good by how many poems I am reading. So I'll go with reading.
Yes, and reading brings a more reliable joy than writing, whose troughs can be as bad as the peaks are good.
